Dundee Contemporary Arts, Scotland
27 April-24 June
Co-curated by our Scottish pals, the finest of Scottish interior design Timorous Beasties this unique exhibition looks at the history of the use of the natural world in interior design. The show has been specially conceived for DCA to feature as part of the Six Cities Design Festival, Scotland's first international festival of design.
Selected by Timorous Beasties, the Glasgow based design duo whose own projects include a dramatic reinterpretation of early 18th century Toile de Jouy wallpaper, Peacocks Among The Ruins brings together examples of historical and contemporary wallpaper, textiles and objects by a diverse range of designers from around the globe.
This exhibition presents a history of interior design according to Timorous Beasties' own particular world view and contains work ranging from examples of 18th century Toile, Eaglemountain, created by Universal Everything for Maxalot's Exposif wallpaper collection, and Swedish designers, Fronts' Horse Lamp.
