Chisato Shinya is a Sapporo-based illustrator who became well-known on the back of Grimm, a contemporary version of Grimm’s Fairy Tales published by Die Gestalten Verlag in 2003 for which she contributed several illustrations. She was then invited by the web’s leading graphic magazine Shift to design the cover, and subsequently held an exhibition at Sapporo’s Soso Café.
